Chapter 19 – The Family Meeting
Scene: Grandparents' living room – Sunday evening
Grandfather calls everyone for a family discussion.
The grandparents, parents, three daughters and their husbands gather in the living room.
Grandfather wants the family to discuss the changes in Keerthana's life and Ananya's emotional struggle.
Ananya speaks first.
Ananya: "I am not angry because Keerthana is exploring her identity. I am hurt because I was not included in such an important journey."
Keerthana lowers her head.
Keerthana: "I am sorry. I was afraid of losing you."
Saroja explains how everything began with hairstyles and household activities.
Padma adds that nobody forced Keerthana to dress differently.
One of the other family members worries about relatives and society.
Grandmother interrupts.
Grandmother: "When our daughters got married, we wanted them to be happy. Why should we forget the same thing now?"
Grandfather supports her.
Grandfather: "A family's responsibility is not to control someone's life. It is to stand beside them during difficult times."
Ananya agrees to attend a professional consultation with Keerthana.
Ending moment: Keerthana touches her grandparents' feet. Grandmother places her hand on Keerthana's head and blesses her.
