One evening, Sushma opened an old trunk filled with Aadya's childhood clothes. Inside was a beautiful half-saree set with a colourful skirt, blouse, and flowing dupatta.
Aadya held it up.
"Would you like to try this someday?"
Pradeep studied the outfit before answering.
"Yes, but I want to try it properly."
They planned a quiet afternoon at home. Aadya helped him arrange the skirt and drape the fabric, while Surabhi styled his long hair into a bun decorated with pearl pins and jasmine flowers.
Sushma brought out a jewellery box and allowed him to choose matching earrings and bangles.
When Pradeep stood before the mirror, he felt emotional.
He liked the outfit, but he also had questions he could not answer. Was he simply enjoying a different style of clothing? Was there something deeper he wanted to understand about himself?
Surabhi noticed his thoughtful expression.
"You don't need to understand everything today," she said.
Pradeep nodded.
For the first time, he realized that uncertainty did not mean he was doing something wrong. He could take his time, explore his feelings, and decide what felt right for him.
