Chapter 1: The Boy With Long Hair

Arav was a quiet, shy college student who shared a small two-person hostel room with Mira, a confident and observant girl. Arav had long, dark hair that fell over his shoulders, but he rarely knew how to manage it. Most days, he simply tied it loosely and hoped nobody would comment.

Mira, on the other hand, was excellent at noticing little things.

One Sunday morning, Arav stood in front of the room's mirror, struggling to gather his tangled hair. His only rubber band snapped as he tried to tie it.

"Need help, long-hair hero?" Mira teased.

Arav blushed. "I can manage."

"Really? You've been fighting with your hair for fifteen minutes."

She opened her drawer, took out a comb, and sat him down in front of the mirror. Starting at the ends, she carefully combed his hair until the tangles disappeared.

"Your hair is actually beautiful," she said. "You just need to look after it."

She gathered his hair into a neat bun and secured it with a soft pink rubber band decorated with a tiny flower.

Arav stared at his reflection.

"Mira! This is pink!"

"And?"

"It's… girly."

"It's a rubber band, Arav. It won't change your identity."

He tried not to smile, but failed.

Arav hesitated. He was embarrassed, but he trusted her enough to consider it.

"Fine," he whispered.

He didn't yet realize that the little pink rubber band would become the beginning of a much bigger secret.
